6 HEALTHY STAPLES TO ALWAYS HAVE ON HAND

October 11, 20232 min read

The must-haves for every home pantry & freezer!

While it’d be great if you had a chef to perfectly prepare each meal to fit your personal fitness goals …… it’s still important to have those essentials on hand, so you’re prepared for anything.

You know what they say…” fail to prepare, and prepare to fail!”

In no particular order, here are some of my favorite pantry essentials to ensure my nutrition game is strong!

👉🏻GRAINS

Brown rice, jasmine rice & quinoa

There are few of my healthier fast digestion carbohydrates! They last forever in a pantry & go with almost any protein!

👉🏻OATS & CREAM OF RICE

Because brown rice is not the top choice for breakfast, I like to have oats & cream of rice on hand to pick up the slack.

Add some protein powder and top with berries if you have them… and walla you have protein oats!

👉🏻NUTS & NUT BUTTER

Good healthy fats with plenty of vitamins and minerals – yep, these have them all. The nuts, seeds and nut butters can last for months in a pantry at room temperature. Perfect for a snack on the go or to add to various dishes.

👉🏻FROZEN FRUIT & VEGGIES

I lOVE fresh fruits and vegetables, but unfortunately, they don’t stay fresh forever. Frozen ones do, though. So having some in the freezer is perfect if you run out of fresh stuff. The best part is there is absolutely no nutritional sacrifice to frozen fruits and veggies; they are equally as beneficial!

👉🏻QUALITY PROTEIN POWDER

My favorite is 1st Phorm.

I like to have an ISO fast digesting post-workout protein like PHORMULA 1  on has as well as a good meal replacement protein like LEVEL 1. (Same here)  These powders are non-negotiables for my pantry, as they are a quick, portable protein source and can be added to most anything - oats, Greek yogurt. Make a smoothie, mug cakes, or even cookie dough with them for a healthy treat!

👉🏻FROZEN LEAN MEATS & FISH

Keeping fresh lean protein on hand can be difficult, especially on the go. However, frozen versions of these products can last several months without preservatives, as long as they are frozen. Keeping your freezer stocked with lean protein options makes it easy to create a healthy meal at home.
